我们很荣幸地宣布艺·凯旋画廊将于2019年12月8日在798艺术区推出艺术家同名个展“何汶玦”。此次展览由高远策展,将呈现艺术家近十年来的油画和装置作品,其中囊括了“看电影”系列、“日常影像”系列、“金钱观”系列等40余件作品,展现了何汶玦近些年来对艺术的探索和观念的突破。
 
riumph Gallery is pleased to present the solo exhibition of He Wenjue at the 798 Art District on December 8th, 2019. The exhibition is curatored by Gao Yuan. It will present the artist’s oil paintings and installation works created in the past decade, including more than 40 works such as “Watch Movie”, “Images”, and “The Idea of Money” series, showing his exploration and breakthrough of art in recent years.

何汶玦1970年生于中国湖南,1989年就读于深圳大学,2006年在吉林艺术学院获得硕士学位。在他的艺术生涯里,日常的真实一直是其灵感来源和艺术追求。在上世纪九十年代时期,他创作了“水”系列作品,出色表现了水无常的形态以及人在水中无法自控的失重感,影射人类身处社会不受控的命运,从而确立了自己在当代艺术界的地位。而这次展出的“看电影”系列在延续先前“水”系列的表现力的基础上摄取了电影的影像片段以探讨图像、记忆、时间三者之间的相互关系。
 
由于艺术家的母亲曾经是湖南当地电影公司的美术指导,所以何汶玦从小就陪伴并帮助母亲绘制电影海报,在这个系列里,艺术家把这种经过绘画转译的电影图像融入了个人的观影经验,聚合了客观和主观的双重经验,在动态切分的过程中形成了超越人类知觉的影像语言。而《日常影像》系列则是从虚拟的视觉图像世界转向了真实世界,讲述了仿影像的绘画在经过了刮除之后,又经历新生的故事。
 
从电影影像向现实影像的过渡,使何汶玦的绘画扩展到更广大的范围,所借取的图像资源也从电影本身走向了整个社会领域,实现了真正的将“日常”艺术化的实践。而其运用刮擦绘画表面的方式,也使图像的细节被剥离,展示并重塑了日常影像经过绘画重塑后的本质。
 
He Wenjue was born in Hunan, China in 1970, studied in Shenzhen University in 1989, and received master’s degree in Jilin Art College in 2006. In his artistic career, everyday reality has always been his source of inspiration and artistic pursuit. In the 1990s, he created the "Water" series of works, which represented the impermanence of water and the sense of weightlessness that people cannot control themselves in the water, reflecting the uncontrolled destiny of human beings in society, thereby establishing his position in contemporary art world.
 
 
And this time the "Watching Movies" series continued the expressiveness of the previous "Water" series by capturing movie footage to explore the interrelationship between image, memory, and time. While the "Daily Image" series has shifted from the virtual visual image world to the real world. The range of captured images has been expanded to the larger real society, thus achieved the practice that truly make everydayness artistic.

作为一名艺术家,何汶玦从未停止过寻求媒介和观念的突破,在2015年前后,他开始向雕塑和装置领域扩展。在尝试了大量陶瓷媒介之后,何汶玦又将其艺术媒介转换成更珍稀的材料——各种玉制品打磨成的现成品艺术。本次展览将展出的“江湖”、“金钱观”、“十二生肖”等系列作品,是在艺术家融合现实经验和传统文化的基础上,利用玉石这种中国人偏爱的媒材审视和回味了传统价值观在当下生活的转化,蕴含了艺术家对当代中国人追逐名利、信仰金钱而同时又被这种状态所绑架束缚的观察和思考。
 
 
As an artist, He Wenjue never stopped seeking breakthrough in media and ideas. Around 2015, He Wenjue’s focus of creation took a significant turn to installations and sculptures.  After numerous attempts at ceramics, He Wenjue turned to ready-made artworks of jade, a rarer material. The series of works such as “Jianghu”, “The Idea of Money” and “Chinese Zodiac” that will be exhibited are based on the artist’s integration of practical experience and traditional culture.
 
 
The artist use jade, the preferred medium of Chinese people, to examine and aftertaste the transformation of traditional values in current life, which contains the artist’s observation and thinking about the contemporary Chinese people’s pursuit of fame and wealth, belief in money and being kidnapped and bound by this state at the same time.

何汶玦一直在探索现实和艺术的交集边界,不断扩大艺术语言发展的可能和观念的深度。在他多年来的风格跃迁的线索中,我们能够发现的,是艺术家对当代艺术不停变化的思考,也是对如何使日常经验变得更艺术的思考。这次展览中的绘画和装置,就如同基督教圣餐礼中被视为耶稣基督的血和肉的葡萄酒和圣饼,经由艺术家之手,以及艺术体制的重塑,变成了绝妙的当代艺术作品。
 
 
As an artist, He Wenjue has been exploring the intersection of reality and art, and constantly expanding the possibilities of artistic language development and the depth of concepts. What we discover from the transformation of styles over the years is the artist’s thinking over the constant changes of contemporary art, and how to make everyday experience more artistic.
 
 
The paintings and installations in this exhibition, like the wine and holy cakes considered as the blood and flesh of Jesus Christ in the Christian Communion, were transformed into wonderful contemporary art through the hands of the artist and the reconstruction of the artistic system works.

何汶玦,1970年出生于中国湖南,深圳大学现代艺术学士(1989-1992)中央美术学院第九届油画高研班(1994-1997),吉林艺术学院绘画硕士(2003-2006)。湖南省油画学会副主席,中国美术家协会会员,中国油画家学会会员。何汶玦的艺术与当下时代风潮紧密结合,却弥漫着一股个性的特征,让人隐约从中感受到一种动荡蓬勃的人生态度。和海洋幽深底处一样,他的画面中也有着强烈的模糊性,一种出离现实的舒展和轻灵,巧妙地传递了一种不可预期但却可以掌控的静默的空间感。他的创作以一种艺术贴近世俗生活的姿态,却总能将我们从所能看见和认可到的世界,引领到了一个掩藏的不可预知的广袤空间。
 
He Wenjue, born in Hunan, China in 1970, holds bachelor’s degree in modern artfrom Shenzhen University (1989-1992), and post-graduate diploma in painting from Central Academy of Fine Arts (1994-1997), and master‘s degree in painting from the Jilin Academy of Fine Arts (2003-2006). He is currently the vice-president of Hunan Oil Painting Society, the member of China Artists Association, and the member of China Oil Painting Society. He Wenjun’s art is closely connected with the current era, and yet is filled with his personal characteristics, which makes people feel a volatile and vigorous attitude toward life.
 
 
Like the deep bottom of the ocean, a strong sense of ambiguity and somewhat stretch and lightness beyond reality can be observed in his painting, which delivers an unpredictable however manageable sense of quiet space in a subtle way. His creation, with an attitude that art is close to mundane life, always leads us from a world we can see and recognize to a vast space that is hidden and unpredictable.

关于策展人

高远,艺术史研究者、策展人。中央美术学院人文学院艺术史博士,清华大学美术学院艺术学理论博士后,任教于北京工业大学艺术设计学院传媒与艺术理论系。
 
高远的艺术史研究和策展工作主要致力于以跨媒介视角对欧洲艺术史、当代艺术理论的考察和关照。曾受美国盖蒂基金会(The Getty Foundation)、王式廓基金会(Wang Shikuo Art Foundation)和中国中青年美术家海外研修工程资助,在哈佛大学意大利文艺复兴研究中心(Villa l Tatti)访问交流(2014);在巴黎德国艺术史研究中心(DFK Paris)访问交流(2017);在佛罗伦萨马克斯·普朗克艺术史研究所(KHl)访问研究(2018)。 
 
高远作为策展人曾经主持策划过三十余次学术展览项目,部分包括:“基底”、有机共同体——公共艺术展”、“游移——新媒体影像艺术展”、“叠园——课植园当代艺术项目”、“感知测绘”、“媒介乌托邦——艺术江西学术邀请展”、“无法兑现”、“且又——当代艺术中的首饰”、“九宫格——精确的视觉化”、“创时纪”——中央美术学院青年英才驻留计划作品展、“冷秩序”、“超级景观——图像世界的多重逻辑”等。
 
Gao Yuan is an assistant professor at school of Art & Design, Beijing University of Technology. He is an art historian, critic and curator with interests mainly focusing on Renaissance and contemporary art. He teaches and writes about 14th ~16th century Italian painting, the history of Renaissance art, the history and practice of art criticism, and contemporary Chinese art. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Art history at China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2016 and then as a postdoctoral researcher at Academy of Art & Design, Tsinghua University(Sep 2016-Sep 2018).
 
 
He has published essays and books on Fra Angelico, Leon Battista Alberti, René Magritte, etc., and Pealeo-christian Art and Chinese contemporary artists. And he has curated about 30 exhibitions at Art Museums and galleries at Turin, Italy, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other places of China. He also tries to incorporate theories of art and artifacts with historical writing and exhibition practice.
